Each year, Manhattan Theatre Club’s Winter Benefit, An Intimate Night, is the most dazzling musical event of the season. Unlike any other event in New York , An Intimate Night brings you up close to Broadway’s most glittering stars for an original, one-night only cabaret. This year’s benefit was held at the fabled Rainbow Room on Monday, January 28, 2007 and was Manhattan Theatre Club’s most successful Winter Benefit to date. The evening raised over $650,000 to help bring theatre to 4,000 New York City schoolchildren through its education and outreach programs and fulfill its mission of producing new plays on and off Broadway.
With its sweeping views of Manhattan and storied history as the city’s premier cabaret room, the Rainbow Room was the perfect setting for this unique event, which featured Tony ® and Emmy Award ® -winning actor David Hyde Pierce, Tony Award-winner Sutton Foster as well as the husband-and-wife team of Broadway performer Jessica Molaskey and jazz guitarist and vocalist John Pizzarelli. The show was directed by Tony -winner Rob Ashford.
Special thanks to Benefit Co-Chairs and Board members Bethany Millard and Fiona Kirk for their enthusiastic leadership and generous support. We are also enormously grateful to all those who purchased tables and tickets and made contributions to the event.
