MTC Announces New "30 UNDER 30" Initiative

Manhattan Theatre Club is pleased to announce the launch of “30 UNDER 30,” a new MTC initiative aimed at young theatergoers. “30 UNDER 30” will offer audience members under the age of 30 tickets for just $30 to select performances of MTC productions at all three of its venues. “30 UNDER 30” also offers young theatergoers insider access: “30 UNDER 30” members are eligible to win tickets to opening night performances, signed scripts, and other items.

MTC inaugurated this new program during the world premiere of Liz Flahive’sFROM UP HERE, directed by Leigh Silverman. The program continues with the Broadway premiere of Caryl Churchill’s TOP GIRLS and the critically acclaimed production of Itamar Moses’ THE FOUR OF US.

“Young people are the future of the American theatre and this new program is a part of our continuing effort to find ways to make tickets available to them at an affordable price,” said Barry Grove. “It’s our intention that this audience development initiative will pave the way for audience members of all ages to see our productions and take advantage of what MTC has to offer for many years to come. Manhattan Theatre Club is thrilled to expand the accessibility of our programming to young theatergoers.”

Marketing Director Debra Waxman stated “There are a multitude of student ticket programs available, but few programs help young theatre-goers gain access to theatre post-college. So many theatre-goers are hungry for the opportunity to see quality work but cost is a major barrier. In addition to offering discounted tickets, MTC hopes to provide unique experiences for 30 UNDER 30 members, such as the chance to attend opening night performances and after parties for our productions.”

This season, MTC proudly presented several productions highlighting actors under 30 including Mauritius; Come Back, Little Sheba; From Up Here, and The Four of Us.
